Best Bang For The Buck!

Purchased this generator for whole house power during long term power outages. I'm more than pleased! Runs my 4 ton heat pump with soft start, no problems. Live in the South very hot and humid in the summer months. AC is important along with keeping refrigerator and lights going. In heat mode I do turn off heat strips. Of course you can't run everything at once, but if you are selective major appliances can be run as needed. Frequency was a little high for my liking even with a 50 percent load. This can be simply adjusted by any qualified technician. Want to run your whole house have a licensed electrician install a manual transfer switch to protect you and power company linemen who are working hard to restore your power during an outage. As you could back feed power into the system without the proper equipment installed in your home. Pulsar says 8 percent THD (total harmonic distortion) at 50 percent load. I checked this and found 5 to 6 percent THD at 50 percent load. That's really clean power in my opinion for a non-invertor generator. Let's talk noise. Yes, it's not the quietest generator, but I've heard a LOT louder. Properly located away from your home (never closer than 20 feet or an open window for your protection) it's not a nuisance. Again, that's my opinion. The generator comes with a bonded neutral and when connected to your home could trip GFI breakers or receptacles. Changing to a floating neutral is easy. Again, have a qualified technician/electrician do this for you and follow manufactures instructions. Weather is also to considered. Get a running generator cover or approved enclosure while it's outside working to keep you comfortable, safe and protect the generator from the elements. I suggest a battery tender, non-ethanol fuel with a fuel stabilizer for long term storage, along with running it with some kind of load on a schedule of your choice. Hope this helps with your decisions on portable generator power. I give the Pulsar G12KBN generator a 2 thumbs up 5-star rating.

Awesome Generator

I’ve owned the pulsar for 5 years now I live in Florida so it gets used due to fricken hurricanes. Only thing I’ve replaced was battery. Starts everytime I try when battery is good. Starting once a month alleviates problems when starting.

OK, now what???

I,ve had my ubit for nearly 2 yrs now and haven't needed it yet --- but I can feel it coming. ha I survived Hurricane Celia August 3rd of 1970 in south Texas.. No electricity for several days (weeks) and it was a BIG mess here for a while. So I know now-- get a generator!!!!! So I did.. Got it all setup to run my house, just start it up, throw the switch and watch TV etc... Can't beat that with a stick!! Live in South Texas.. Hurricane Alley, luck to all.

A definitive difference when power is out

Living rural Alabama we can be w/out power for extended periods. It is quiet enough to rest with no disturbance. It is a bit difficult to start if allowed to sit up. Test starting monthly alleviates the issue. Have recommended to family.

Great Product, You might Consider Fixing Dual "Fule" {FUEL*} Spelling

I love this item....It's not only one of the bigger output options but for the price you cant argue with. Not to mention it runs at half load it runs longer and so more efficiently than the larger options by almost 50%. Hands down best bang for buck as the phrase goes. Thanks again Pulsar!

Note: the spelling of "FUEL" is incorrectly spelled as FULE in the image shown above the comments, specifically where it shows the wattage on both sources.
