4 Stars and a Question Mark

This is my 3rd summer using this lawnmower, I bought it brand new, I truly was impressed, my lawn isn't a level smooth manicured landscape, it's very rough and tough, weekly punishment, the mower is holding up beautifully, I've used push mowers my whole life, 50 years, so I know mowers, the question mark, even though the chassis has a rough life, the engine maintenance is done religiously, I know it's what can determine a long life or a shortened one, I did my 4th oil change and to my surprise it had a silver tint to it, yeah metal, the engine isn't smoking and it's running fine, however, it is rattling internally, very noticeable, so how long will it keep going, I don't know, will it keep eating itself up internally, without a doubt. I've only ever owned, Briggs and Stratton and Tecumseh powered mowers, and have never ever had this happen, so if possible I will do a follow up, on my engine rattling Pulsar lawnmower, I sure hope it makes it through this summer, I really don't want to buy another mower, money is pretty tight, but my lawn keeps on growing.

Great Bargin

We mow a 2.5 acre yard. We have owned a large, 61" deck SCAGG zero turn for years. Got Pulsar from Rural King to mow close to house. Used it once and so far, works like a charm. Easy price, easy assembly, easy one pull start.

Starts and runs okay. Nothing else great about this mower

The first thing I noticed about this mower, straight out of the box was the composite tires. Not a fan. After a year of use can already see excessive wear to the tread. They do not roll like rubber tires. Seems like there is more rolling resistance, causing user fatigue if you have to push this thing over a large lawn.

Second issue I've noticed over time is how flimsy the air filter on this mower is. Initially I was pleased that it didn't come with one of those paper filters that continually need to be replaced. Am now rethinking that. User manual advises replacing the foam filter every 50 hrs or sooner in dusty conditions. I can tell you, if you own a large yard, you won't make it to 50 hrs before this thin filter is done for. It should have come with a thicker filter. Clearly, they don't make them like they used to. Nothing is made to last anymore. This mower is a prime example of, build it cheap, don't worry about quality.
